Cyrenaeus, Senior dictus, Socratis auditor; cum Epicuro de voluptate sensit. Primus quaestu philosophatus est, et cum Xenophonte simultatem habuit, et a Diogene Canis Regius appellatus est, quod Dioysio, ac aliis divitibus ventris gratiâ adularetur. Horat. l. 3. Ep. 17. v. 14.

Duos animi motus, dolorem et gaudium, principia statuit, etc. Vide Diog. Laert. in Aristippo. Hic in navigio ob tempestatem expallescens, interrogatus, quare, cum Philosophus eslet, timeret? respondit; Non eandem sibi, et interroganti causam esle; quoniam is non eslet magnopere sollicitus pro anima nequissimi nebulonis, ipsum autem pro Aristippi anima timere.
